Make Custom Enamel Pins

custom enamel pins

It all starts with your idea. What do you need custom pins made for? Your business? Your team? Are these going to be enamel pins that you sell online or at your store? There are a lot of factors to consider. If you are looking to get cheap pins made then you’ll want to look at the soft enamel pins. If you need high quality for resale or for a professional business, you’ll want to go with hard enamel pins. You can choose your metal color, and enamel colors and any special features you want. The price of the pin will be determined by the size and the number of colors that are featured in your design.

If you have artwork already you can email that to us or upload it through our quote form. Once we have an idea of what you need, one of our artists will create digital artwork and send it back to you. This is your chance to review and revise the design if needed. When your artwork if finalized, simply place the order on our website or over the phone and your custom pins will go into production! It takes about 3-4 weeks before the finished product will be in your hands.

We’ve been a custom pin manufacturer for over 22 years. Our family owned and operated business has produced enamel pins for some of the biggest companies in the world. We have so many repeat customers because once they see the quality of our work and experience our unbeatable customer service they have no reason to go anywhere else.

How are the pins made?

Soft enamel pins are made from a metal blank, usually made of iron, that is die-struck with your design and then plated. We have many different plating options for you to choose from. After plating, the recessed areas of the pins that need to be colored are filled with colored enamel and left to dry. Don’t let the name fool you, once the enamel is dry, it is hard, very durable and will look great for decades to come. The soft-enamel pin finish also has the option of having an epoxy dome applied to the surface of the pin. This is a thin, clear coating that covers the entire front of the pin, making the surface of the pin completely smooth. The epoxy coating is not necessary, but is offered for those who like their pins to have a smooth surface.

Our cloisonne, or hard enamel pins are jewelry quality pins. They are a bit more expensive, but they are worth every penny if you need a very high quality pin. These pins are struck from brass or copper and then plated with your choice of plating. All of the colors are then filled with a special enamel or glass, and then baked until the enamel or glass has melted and formed into the recessed areas of the pin perfectly. Then the pins are buffed flat on a large buffing stone. This makes the surface of the colors and the metal perfectly smooth and even, meaning that the surface of these pins is smooth to the touch without having to add an epoxy coating.
